Paul the Fox

About Paul the Fox

A quiet corner of the internet where a little fox lives his life.

What Is This?

Paul the Fox is an online virtual companion. A little fox lives in a 3D world made from real geographic data, and you can visit him anytime — right in your browser. There are no scores, no timers, no quests. Just a fox exploring valleys and hills, doing what foxes do.

Think of it like a slow TV channel, but for a fox. You open the page, and Paul is there — walking, running, sitting to watch the sunset. Every visit is a little different.

The Idea

Originally, this was going to be a big story-driven adventure game — a boy and his fox traveling across mysterious lands. But as a solo developer with limited time, I realized the full game would take years. So I changed direction.

Instead of waiting years to release something, I started with the smallest possible experience: just the fox, in the world, living his life. And something interesting happened — even this simple version felt special. There's something calming about watching a little creature exist in a beautiful space, with no agenda.

Paul the Fox is now the first step of a longer journey. More activities, more interactions, and eventually the full story mode are all in the works. But the core will always be the same: a peaceful place to visit.

Where It's Going

Built With

The 3D world runs on Three.js. The terrain uses real geographic data. The fox model and other 3D assets come from Sketchfab, GitHub, and generative 3D tools.

Parts of this project were developed with vibe coding — Claude Code and DeepSeek as AI pair programmers. No build tools, no frameworks. Just static HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

Solo Developer • Designer • Fox Fan

I'm an independent developer making games and interactive experiences on the web. Paul the Fox is a passion project — built in my spare time, piece by piece. I believe the web can still be a place for weird, personal, heartfelt creations, and this is my small contribution.
